Ban hate speech against the Gay, Lesbian and Transexual community in Greece

I offer my support to the Greek gay rights activist Leo Kalovyrnas and the non-governmental organisation Synthesis HIV/AIDS Awareness who were sued for 1 million Euro in defamation charges after denouncing Greek-Orthodox bishop Seraphim’s misanthropic and homophobic hate speech. The trial was set for 5 February 2009 but has been postponed for 19 November 2009.

I call on the Greek Government to ban hate speech against the Gay, Lesbian and Transexual community in Greece by changing the anti-discrimination law 927/1979 so as to cover hate crimes against the Greek LGBT community.
